
Technical Director
Strategy & Planning-Develop and implement technical strategies and project roadmaps aligned with overall business objectives. Define standards and approaches for new product development, fabrication methods, and emerging technologies.
Leadership & Management-Lead, mentor, and manage technical and design teams across multiple disciplines. Oversee budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation to support project goals and schedules. Provide technical guidance and professional development to team members.
Project Oversight-Oversee technical execution of projects from concept through installation. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards. Review and approve technical drawings, documentation, and fabrication methodologies.
Technical Expertise-Serve as a subject matter expert, staying current with new technologies, tools, and industry best practices. Ensure technical solutions are efficient, scalable, safe, and aligned with project requirements. Establish and enforce standards for quality assurance, performance, and documentation.
Collaboration & Communication-Act as the primary technical liaison between leadership, clients, designers, and production teams. Support client-facing conversations by clearly communicating technical vision, constraints, and solutions. Collaborate with sales and design teams during proposal and planning phases.
Typical Duties
- Direct oversight of the technical management team including Designers, Production Manager and Fabrication Department Leads.
- Responsible for the day-to-day manufacturing activities including overall planning and scheduling of resources.
- Participate in Production meetings, Project Meetings, and Client Meetings as needed.
- Support project estimating by determining technical approaches and developing associated budgets.
- Lead design development reviews resulting in redline drawing packages prior to client submittals.
- Maintain standards as defined by the quality assurance procedures.
- Develop processes and procedures to maximize efficiencies through the production process.
- Engage external vendors and subcontractors to determine scope, schedule, and cost. Monitor performance to ensure production is up to the organization’s standards and address any issues promptly.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering/Themed Entertainment or a related technical field
• 10+ years of technical experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or management role
Technical Skills
• Deep knowledge of relevant engineering or technical domains (e.g., metal fabrication, FRP tooling /casting, CNC, millwork, industrial coatings, theme painting).
• Proficiency with industry tools and platforms.
Leadership & Soft Skills
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and cross-functional teams.
